Hourglass in the Sand

Wow! This has been a long time coming, over a year. I have such a passion for sewing and quilting and a desire to teach and share so pattern making was bound to be the next step for me. I wanted to create something to fit my queen size bed with some extra overhang so this is by far the biggest quilt I have ever made. I am selling a pattern for this quilt on craftsy, it is my first for sale pattern. I am so nervous and excited all at the same time that I don't even know where to begin. So perhaps I will leave you with the photos to enjoy. Thanks so much to all who visit my site you inspire me to keep going.

Block, a magazine review

I first fell in love with the Missouri star quilt co. from one of their early You Tube Tutorials. Ever since that first video I have been amazed and inspired time and again by Jenny and her wonderful team. They sell from their website not only traditional fabric by the yard but they are most know for their pre-cuts and quilter's daily deal. When I saw that Jenny was going to compile her wonderful tutorials into a magazine I had to become a subscriber. This is a great magazine chocked full of tutorials, no adds, along with some wonderful stories and sentiments behind her quilts. I love that I can refer to the magazine but also see her video's on You Tube for an added visual aide. I would recommend this to any quilter, especially beginners she's got some great easy quilts that look complicated. I think we all can appreciate those. On the website you can subscribe to Block and support this wonderful small (but growing fast) business.

Pink Umbrellas

This is a quilt I finished, ages ago it seems. I used up all I could of this light green fabric with pink paper umbrellas on it. The finished size ended up being 63" X 76" so a very generous lap size quilt.

On this project I had decided to skip the corners, although it may have been in part to not enough of the pink fabric to make the setting corners. I like this type of finished edge anyway, it ended up being super easy to bind (nice gentle curves).
